10) Resident Evil

It might seem strange to recommend remaking a remake, but Capcom’s GCN version of Resident Evil is no average reissue. When Resident Evil released in 2002, it was a complete visual overhaul of the PlayStation original. Character models and backgrounds were revamped, featuring more details and improved lighting effects. With the inclusion of new areas to explore and better sound quality, many consider this to be the definitive version of Resident Evil. As such, it seems the perfect candidate for being taken to the next level with a bump to HD. Just the thought of item and weapon management via the GamePad is too much to resist. In the wake of Resident Evil 6‘s mixed reviews, remaking GCN’s Resident Evil would be a great opportunity to reinvigorate the franchise by exposing players to the series’ classic play control and frightening, tense atmosphere.
Fantastic list. You’re missing the original Super Monkey Ball, though. Also, from a personal standpoint, I’d say NHL Hitz 2003, but I don’t think that’ll ever happen. :)
Haha, hey, if Tony Hawk can do it, I say NHL Hitz 2003 deserves a shot! I totally forgot Monkey Ball; I’ll sacrifice Viewtiful Joe for it.
Great article. A good controlling Twilight Princess would be awesome. Eternal Darkness however needs a full revamp, and a simple upgrade to HD would be a waste of a time. Wind Waker was made with timeless graphics; ED is a bit dated.
Gc was a great console, i have almost all this games and i think they all could look amazing on hd, but you missed the most impressive looking gc game of all time. Rogue Leader Rogue Squadron II.
Good picks overall. Needs more Skies of Arcadia: Legends though. ;)
