Today’s Nintendo Direct featured a handful of exciting new details and announcements, but the best arguably came at the end of the broadcast, when Nintendo president Satoru Iwata gave fans their first look at an all-new Kirby game for 3DS!
Like the recent Kirby’s Return to Dream Land for Wii, the newly announced Kirby title will be a sidescrolling platformer, featuring rendered environments and the puffball’s iconic copy powers, including Sword Kirby and Ice Kirby. The game will also introduce a few new tricks to Kirby’s arsenal, such as a vortex-like sucking ability that seems to be triggered when Kirby touches a certain power-up.
No other details on Kirby’s new game have been announced, but it will be launching in 2014. You can check out the first gameplay trailer at the link below.

Man, I love that trailer. This looks like a game you’re gonna want to keep the 3D on while you play.
Looks awesome!! I can’t wait!!
I’ve never played a Kirby title.. but this is really cute. I might have to pick this up when it comes out! Better late then never, right?
You should start with Kirby’s Epic Yarn. :P
