Nintendo kicked off today’s Nintendo Direct broadcast in style with a beautiful new trailer for Super Mario 3D World, the upcoming four-player Mario adventure for Wii U!
In addition to showing off some of the new enemies and stages that players will encounter on their journey, the trailer highlighted a number of new power-ups that Mario and friends will be able use, including a Goomba mask that allows them to slip past the mushroom-like minion undetected, a potted Piranha Plant that can eat other enemies, a special cherry power-up that creates duplicates of your character, a head-mounted cannon, and an oversized ice skate (reminiscent of Kuribo’s shoe) that players can use to navigate snowy environments, plus old standbys like the Fire Flower, Tanooki Suit, and many others. Check it out below!
Super Mario 3D World will be launching in North America on November 22.

Wow. I’m more excited after watching this trailer than I was after playing the actual demo!
OMG! That game has everything plus a kitchen sink!!…. in a cat suit.
Outstanding!!
I was seriously blown away by this trailer. I was less trepidatious about 3D World than most people, but I did think that the game looked more conservative compared to the Galaxy games. After today, I’m thinking 3D World might have more up its sleeve!
now im pumped for this game, looks super fun, i still think a new galaxy would be better, but this doesn’t look bad at all.
Ok, so I’m significantly more excited for this game now that I’ve seen this trailer… the meowing is still creepy though.
