1) Rick the Hamster
Appeared in: Kirby’s Dream Land 2 & 3
Like I could leave out Rick?! Rick the Hamster is my number one pick because he has proven to be useful in almost every level in some capacity. Of the animal friends, he’s the Mario of the bunch. He’s not a master in many areas, but he’s definitely the best all around. While his theme music isn’t as great as Kine or Coo’s themes, that doesn’t matter. Rick is the most useful of them all, and possibly the cutest. The abilities used in the game with Rick’s help are quite useful too, like Ice (for close range attacks) and Cutter (for long range attacks). And as a side note, who on earth doesn’t love the Stone ability with Rick? Even if that joke is ages old, it still makes me chuckle as a fan of visual puns.
So that is my Top Ten list of best Kirby helpers/partners. Do you agree? Disagree? Want to complain about why I have Parasol Waddle Dee on there but not Blade Knight? Want to say that I’m completely insane for having Kine that high? Think I’m full of it? Am I missing anybody in particular? Feel free to comment below and tell me so. Until next time, this has been another edition of Top Ten!
Great list! Kirby’s oddball pals have always been a favorite of mine. It always feels wrong to annihilate them on a regular basis, lol.
Excellent choices! Rick was my favorite too. Was bummed when Kirby’s dreamland 3 came out because I had already sold my SNES (what a mistake! Still haven’t gotten my new SNES collection up to what I used to have) to get n64 games. Saw rick was back and was crushed. Took me years to be able to play it
