Nintendo might be new to the free-to-play realm, but it seems to be handling its first real test in this market, Steel Diver: Sub Wars, rather well. Instead of resting on its laurels, Nintendo has revealed plans to improve upon the game and release new content with version 2.0.
In addition to the usual tweaks and balances one normally expects from a game focused squarely on online multiplayer, this update will include new content and more significant changes to gameplay. Attacking allies will now result in penalties against the aggressor, the game will feature new ways of rewarding win streaks, and new subs will be made available for gamers who have put their money down for the premium version of the game. All of these changes will be released this month.
Altogether, this news might not seem like anything big to the rest of the gaming world, but Sub Wars is something of a brave new world for Nintendo, so it is good to see that the company is taking it seriously and looking to create an enticing, and worthwhile experience outside of its usual business structure.
