We haven’t heard anything about Hyrule Warriors ever since its surprise announcement during last December’s Nintendo Direct, but we now at least have confirmation from Tecmo Koei that the game will be coming out in Japan this summer. The information came from the company’s recent financial results briefing.
Hyrule Warriors is another game in the long-running Musou series, known in the West as Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors, and various other spin-offs. This time around, the traditional Dynasty Warriors gameplay will be Zelda-flavoured. Hopefully the collaboration with Nintendo is going to help make the hack-and-slashing a little less shallow.
There is currently no information regarding the game’s release outside of Japan, but I’m pretty sure it’s just a matter of time.

That should help with ending the game drought after MK8. I wonder if we’ll have to wait until E3 to hear about a North American release?
