Wii U is starting to look like the home for indie-based software. In recent months, Nintendojo has offered coverage on Kickstarted titles such as Mighty No. 9, ReVeN, and Knite and the Ghost Lights. This weekend, another new Kickstarter campaign popped up for a potential Wii U-exclusive strategy title called Tin Toy Battles. The game comes courtesy of Predator Software, a small, London-based developer. Predator has just one title under its belt so far, Save the Creatures, which is currently available on mobile devices.

As of right now, Predator has yet to offer any screenshots or video of the title in action, but has offered quite a bit of information on the game. Tin Toy Battles promises to be similar to other turn-based strategy RPGs, such as Final Fantasy Tactics. The GamePad’s touchscreen will be used to command units, and will offer a first-person perspective of the battlefield. Winning battles will allow players to buy blind-packs of toy “figures” in the game, which can then be traded with other players online. The developers also plan to approach companies about the prospect of licensed figures appearing, with Nintendo, Capcom, and Marvel listed as ideal licenses that they would like to pursue.

If Tin Toy Battles seems like the kind of title you’d like to see us offer more coverage of, let us know in the comments below! And, if the game does interest you, check out Predator Software’s Kickstarter page at the link below!

I’m always on the lookout for new games to kickstart, so this coverage is quite welcome. Hopefully this week Festival of Magic will be relaunching, I believe under the new name Earthlock; it deserves as much coverage as it can get. And Red Goddess just launched a campaign, although Wii U is only a stretch goal.

      Hi Kroisos
I know you might be an expert in new games, but would you know if there is any swap area of the web where people exchange or sell used wii games? [apart from ebay amazon etc]. I’m looking for either Exerbeat or Step to the beat. They are Nowhere to be found in Australia. Thanks a lot.
