While Wii U’s first year saw the system struggle to build a strong library of titles, the last couple of months have helped to reverse this trend. Not only have we seen strong physical releases like The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD and The Wonderful 101, we’ve also seen several eShop games announced, thanks to Kickstarter. Mighty No. 9 and Hyper Light Drifter were both made official over the last month, and now we have one more release to look forward to: Knite & the Ghost Lights. The game will come to Wii U thanks to developer Mobot Studios.
Knite & the Ghost Lights is a unique looking side-scroller that uses hand-crafted character models, and some beautiful lighting effects. The game’s titular character must traverse a Tim Burton-esque world called Mistland, using his abilities as a ghost piper to help save lost souls.
We here at Nintendojo have seen a lot of interesting games on Kickstarter, but this one looks to be quite different from the rest, both in design and scope. There are still 24 hours to pledge and support Knite & the Ghost Lights. A $35 pledge gets you a Wii U download of the game, as well as other rewards. Will you check out the title when it becomes available? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
