The Smash Bros. announcements continue to trickle in at a steady rate; this time, series director Masahiro Sakurai revealed that Tortimer Island, the tropical resort from Animal Crossing: New Leaf, will be featured as a stage in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. for 3DS.
Sakurai made the announcement on Miiverse this morning as part of his daily Smash Bros. updates. According to his post, the island’s layout will be different each time players return to it– a clever nod to the way its geography is unique for each New Leaf player. Sakurai also posted two screenshots of the stage, which you can take a look at below.

I wish there were a way to import your New Leaf character into the next Super Smash Bros, so you wouldn’t just be playing as the generic version of the Villager. Oh well. Maybe next time.
