Among the deluge of announcements from today’s Nintendo Digital Event, Nintendo finally revealed some more information on Yoshi’s Woolly World, the newly renamed Wii U title from Good-Feel.

Like Good-Feel’s previous effort, Kirby’s Epic Yarn for Wii, Woolly World is a side-scrolling adventure through stages crafted out of yarn and other textiles. The game appears to play similarly to Yoshi’s Island; levels are sprinkled with series staples such as Chomp Rocks and winged clouds, and Yoshi himself retains many of his signature abilities from that series, though they’ve been tweaked to better fit the new arts and crafts aesthetic– Yoshi can still swallow up enemies, for instance, but rather than turning them into eggs, they now become balls of yarn, which the dino can hurl to create platforms and entangle other foes. Yoshi can also use his elastic tongue to unravel certain parts of the scenery, revealing hidden items and pathways.

Yoshi’s Woolly World will also feature a cooperative two player mode, allowing a second player to join the adventure. Like Nintendo’s other cooperative platformers, players will be able to help or hinder each other as they please, working together to snag hard to reach gems or swallowing the other up to use as a projectile.

Yoshi’s Woolly World will be released in the first half of 2015.
