A new game from Ninja Gaiden director Tomonobu Itagaki, entitled Devil’s Third, will be coming exclusively to Wii U after being originally intended for PC and tablets as well.
Devil’s Third is a stylised action game featuring gory dismemberment physics, character customisation, a level editor, and combat-focused multiplayer using the GamePad to share information with other players. The story focuses on a mutant protagonist who is part of a group of former terrorists who fight their former allies throughout the course of the game.
The product of a long development, Devil’s Third was intended to be published by THQ but following the publisher’s closure the rights were returned to new developer Valhalla Game Studios.
The announcement of Wii U exclusivity was made just after Nintendo’s E3 broadcast, when Mr. Itagaki appeared on IGN’s stream for the show. He said that Nintendo “really understood my vision” and proceeded to show a live demonstration of the game.

The multiplayer mode seems to be quite innovative; hopefully Nintendojo will attach a video for those not lucky enough to see the live event.
