Update: Nintendo has uploaded a handful of screenshots from Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. to its Facebook page, which you can take a look at below:
Original Story: During a special, behind-closed-doors round table on Wednesday evening, Nintendo unveiled a brand new property it is working on for 3DS: Code Name: S.T.E.A.M.
According to the company’s official Twitter account, Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. is a steampunk turn-based strategy game with shooter elements. The title is being developed by Intelligent Systems, the studio behind the Fire Emblem and Advance Wars series, and boasts a stylized, comic book aesthetic. The gameplay is said to be reminiscent of Sega’s Valkyria Chronicles series. Players move their characters from a third-person perspective, using the 3DS touch screen to control their steam-powered fighters.
Nintendo will be streaming footage of Code Name: S.T.E.A.M., among a number of other titles, tomorrow during the final installment of its Treehouse Live at E3 broadcast, which fans will be able to watch on the company’s E3 channel. The broadcast begins at 9:30 AM Pacific Time and runs until 5 PM PT.
