6) Resident Evil 2
Released: 1999
There’s something magical about Nintendo that so many games somehow get better when they’re released for the company’s various consoles. Spider-Man and Ridge Racer 64 were both ports that out-shined their source material, and Resident Evil 2 was no different. Touting better graphics, the ability to customize aspects of the gameplay, and costumes not featured anywhere else, Resident Evil 2 on N64 was as faithful as it was superior to the PlayStation version. Stuffed into a single game cartridge, Capcom even found a way to squeeze the title’s FMV sequences into the mix! One of the best Resident Evil games was even better on N64.
