9) Ridge Racer 64
Released: 2000
Rrriiiiiiiiiidddggggeeeee Raaaaaccc-ahem, sorry! Odd though it was, it took Ridge Racer 64 years to come to N64 despite being a port of a PlayStation launch game. Not that it was any mere port, of course. Ridge Racer 64 came to the console sporting improved graphics, better controls thanks to the N64 analogue stick, and additional content that Sony’s fans never got in their version of the title. There’s nothing quite like Ridge Racer’s brand of arcade racing, with its wicked drifting at the heart of every title. It takes some work to master, but learning to blaze around turns and corners in Ridge Racer is as satisfying as any gimmick in the industry. N64 had the definitive version of Ridge Racer, and it was one heck of a racing game.
