2) Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber

Nintendo 64 was not known for its epic RPGs. Outside of Paper Mario, there wasn’t much of anything for RPG players to enjoy, let alone write home about. Ogre Battle 64 was an exception, though. Beautiful graphics, a gripping story, and an excellent battle system were all on display, proving that N64 could easily be home to a strong RPG so long as developers were willing to put in the effort. Though some of the strategy mechanics for combat could be a tad divisive, including the game’s arrangement of battalion units, Ogre Battle 64 was nonetheless the sort of role playing game that N64 needed more of.
