7) Bomberman Hero
Released: 1998
Hudson’s pink, white, and blue hero finally hit the nail on the head with Bomberman Hero. Not every franchise made the transition to 3D in one piece– just ask Earthworm Jim. Bomberman had a respectable outing with Bomberman 64, but Bomberman Hero was a much more enjoyable and polished game. The main quest featured fun platforming with some clever transformation mechanics, but it was the game’s soundtrack that pushed it over the edge. Seriously, go find Bomberman Hero‘s soundtrack and just push play, it’s amazing. An excellent platformer that’s worth a download on Wii’s Virtual Console.
