Reminder, Pokémon fans: The Pokémon Company will be streaming the first episode in the four-part Pokémon special, Pokémon Origins, this Friday on the official Pokémon web site.

Unlike the traditional animated series, Pokémon Origins is a retelling of the first two installments in the franchise, Pokémon Red and Blue. The special follows game protagonist Red as he travels around the Kanto region, learning to capture and train Pokémon, foiling the heinous plans of Team Rocket, and competing with his childhood rival Blue to become a Pokémon Master.

Pokémon fans can already find all four episodes in Japanese (with subtitles of varying quality) on YouTube, but this Friday will be the first time that Pokémon Origins will be airing in English. In addition to the Pokémon web site, the special can also be streamed on iOS and Android devices via the Pokémon TV app.

Will you be checking out Pokémon Origins this Friday? Have you already seen any of the episodes online? Share your thoughts with us in the comments!
