During the last Nintendo Direct broadcast, it was announced that 3DS would be receiving an application allowing access to YouTube on the device within the month. The addition will broaden the online appeal Nintendo hopes to have with its systems, and should be welcome to those gamers wishing to access video on their handhelds.
There’s been no confirmation of the possibility of 3D video, which both YouTube and 3DS support. However, this would require a very strong Internet connection and is probably not the sort of thing which would be expected from the first version of the software. The Wii U version, much maligned in its early days, will also be updated later this month.
Still, those with Internet connections at work will probably enjoy watching cat videos during their lunch breaks.
