Despite all odds, it seems Project X Zone, the high-profile 3DS crossover between Capcom, Sega, and Namco Bandai, will be released in North America and Europe this summer.
Co-developed by Banpresto and a little studio called Monolith Soft (you may have heard of them), Project X Zone is a unique strategy/fighting game hybrid that features over 200 different characters from the companies’ biggest franchises, including Street Fighter, Devil May Cry, Sakura Wars, and Mega Man (among many, many others). A ten-minute (Japanese) trailer can be seen below.
While Namco Bandai has yet to confirm a solid release date for the game, the fact that it is even coming stateside at all (given how often crossovers of this sort are relegated to Japan) is something of a small miracle. If the 3DS’s 2013 lineup wasn’t already looking bright, it certainly is now.

Wow, I hope this game can manage to be as strategic as FF Tactics and as balanced as SSFIV. The trailer absolutely blew my mind. Why do developers always release good games at the exact same time? What’s wrong with them?
Very excited for this release. I wonder how the story line is really going to play out. Buying day 1.
