While rumors had been swirling around the Internet that Nintendo would be announcing a 3DS remake of Majora’s Mask during today’s Nintendo Direct broadcast, the company one-upped expectations by announcing a brand new sequel to The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past instead!
Set in the same universe as the classic SNES outing, this new Zelda title will feature the series’ hallmark top-down gameplay as well as a brand new storyline, which will take Link through a series of new and challenging dungeons. This time around, the Hylian hero will be able to transform into a drawing and move along walls, giving fans a different perspective on the challenges that await them.
While it has yet to be given a title, Nintendo has confirmed that this new installment of the Zelda series will be hitting stores this holiday season.
