8) WarioWare D.I.Y.
Continuing the trend of downloadable content is WarioWare D.I.Y. WarioWare: Touched! was one of my favourite DS launch games, but D.I.Y. took the whole concept one step further by letting you create your own minigames and send them to others. You could even collaborate with friends on creations, too if, like me, you lack any kind of artistic skills. Through the WarioWare D.I.Y. Showcase on the Wii Shop Channel, it was also possible to send games to Wii and play them with the Wii Remote.
The pre-made minigames may not have been as good as WarioWare: Touched!, but they weren’t the main attraction this time. This is a feature I’d love to see Nintendo revisit again with the series.
Sorry, but you can’t make a “Best of WFC” without Monster Hunter.
We’ve excluded Monster Hunter from the list (and from our poll) since it technically used Capcom’s servers for online play and not Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, but there’s no doubt that it was easily one of the most ambitious and addictive online games on any Nintendo console. ;)
Yeah, there was a number of great third party games that would have made the list if it had been open to all games with online play.
I agree with you though. I plan on getting Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate as part of the Mario Kart promotion in a couple of weeks!
