The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD has only been available for a few short weeks, but it appears that the title has already had a huge impact on sales of the Wii U. According to Nintendo, European Wii U sales increased by 685 percent, as a result. The Wind Waker HD debuted at number 4 on the UK all-formats charts last week.

Nintendo has yet to release official console sales figures for the week, but any sales increase is clearly cause for celebration. With Sony and Microsoft set to release new consoles this holiday season, good news is certainly welcome. Stay tuned to Nintendojo where we’ll have more on the numbers as they come in.

Have you picked up a copy of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD? Did the game make you finally decide to buy a Wii U? Let us know in the comments below!
