Considering the franchise’s history of phenomenal music, making a rhythm game for 3DS in celebration of Final Fantasy’s 25th anniversary made complete sense, and the end result was quire enjoyable. While I personally didn’t care much the art style in Theatrhythm Final Fantasy, the song selection was great and the touch based gameplay was fun and challenging. The music-centric experiment proved so successful a sequel was announced, and now we know when you can play it.
Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call will be released in North America on September 16, and while everybody will be able to revel in the game’s 200 track strong soundtrack, only 5,000 will have to opportunity to pick up the Collector’s Edition of the game that will only be available through Square Enix’s online store.
