It’s no secret that I’m excited for Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse on 3DS. However, with the delay of Pier Solar HD and Treasurenauts into 2014, I started to doubt that my most anticipated indie games would come out on their targeted release dates. Matt Bozon, creator of Shantae, confirmed my worst suspicions by announcing a possible 2014 delay for Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse on Twitter.
“Looking at sometime this winter for Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse. So Dec 21 – Mar 19 timeframe,” he said. “A couple more months, best guess.”
While it’s always a shame to hear about a delay, I can always take some solace in knowing that the game will be a lot better with more development time. Plus, if I’m really craving another indie game, the release of Knytt Underground on the eShop this week will definitely be able to hold me over until games like Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse finally come out.
