Zen Studios, the team behind Marvel Pinball 3D and Zen Pinball 2, has a new offering on the way, but this time it’ll be exchanging tilting tables for crumbling towers. That’s because the developer is bringing the medieval-themed tower defense game CastleStorm to the Wii U eShop on December 26. The game will arrive on the same day in North America and Europe for the price of $9.99.
CastleStorm, which debuted earlier this year on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, was met with strong reviews upon release. Critics particularly seemed taken with the title’s addictive gameplay and strong sense of humor. Game of Thrones fans even found a couple references to the works of George R.R. Martin throughout the game. The Wii U version just may end up trumping the others, however, as it will boast a couple updates specifically for Nintendo’s console. CastleStorm on Wii U will feature Pro Controller support, off-TV play on the GamePad, and touch screen control options.
