News Desk Masthead - Wii U 1

While today’s Nintendo Direct conference focused primarily on the 3DS, there were a few Wii U announcements made as well. For your convenience, we’ve gathered them all together in one place!

First up, Nintendo has confirmed that LEGO City Stories: Undercover will release on March 18. The company provided us with a new trailer as well:

Also making its debut next month is EA’s Need for Speed: Most Wanted U, coming to the Wii U on March 19. Nintendo promises that the game will feature a bevy of exclusives, including a “Co-Driver mode” where one player will drive with the Pro controller or a Wii remote while another player helps out using the GamePad. The game will also support off-TV play, and it will be the first third-party title to incorporate Miiverse compatibility.

Speaking of Miiverse, Nintendo also announced that a Legend of Zelda community has been added to the service. The community is now live, so check it out while you wait patiently for the upcoming HD remake of The Wind Waker!

In eShop news, Google’s popular Street View made its way to the Wii U this morning by way of a free app. The app, known as Wii Street U, allows Wii U owners to see a 360-degree view of any street address from the comfort of their couch. The app will also come pre-loaded with 70 different locations from around the globe for users to take a look at.

Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge will be getting its own free update. The update will add a new costume for each playable character, as well as 25 new ninja trials.

The eShop will also be home to three new titles within the next few weeks.

Bit.Trip Presents Runner 2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien will make its debut by the end of February. The newest Bit.Trip title from Gaijin Games will offer brand new environments as well as an all-new soundtrack.

Also debuting this month is Zen Pinball 2 from Zen Studios. The game will be a free download, with a hefty amount of new tables available as priced downloads. While no actual tables have been confirmed yet, the PS3 version has had tables featuring Marvel Comics superheroes, Ninja Gaiden, and several other popular franchises.

Last but not least, Toki Tori 2, the sequel to the underrated Game Boy Color classic, will finally see the light of the eShop sometime in March. The game was originally intended to release late last year and will also feature off-TV play, as well as a level editor.

There you have it, folks! As always, stay tuned to Nintendojo for more on these upcoming games! And don’t forget to let us know what you think in the comments below.
