In recent posts to both Twitter and Facebook, Japanese developer Level-5, known for its work on the Professor Layton series and the more recent Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, has reached out to its western fan base to tout the success of its latest 3DS title Yo-kai Watch, and to ask if gamers might be interested in seeing it released in the European and North American markets.
For the uninitiated, Yo-kai Watch is a somewhat Pokémonesque adventure game involving town exploration and the befriending of supernatural monsters or spirits which can then be used in battle against enemies and the forces of evil. The title has been a resounding success in Japan, where it has already sold over 400,000 copies and has an announced sequel.
This latest development, in conjunction with the fact that the company recently filed a US trademark for the game, points to the likelihood that the company is considering bringing it to western audiences. If you’d be interested in playing this eclectic title, then hit up the developer’s Twitter account here and as always tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
