Coinciding with the release of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze in North America and Europe, Nintendo has announced that Diddy Kong, DK’s simian sidekick and one of the playable characters in the new side-scroller, will be returning to the ring in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS!
Diddy Kong is the 24th fighter to join the games’ roster, marking his second appearance in the series to date. Based on the handful of screenshots posted over on the official Smash Bros. website (which can be found at the link below), it seems he’ll be retaining much of his moveset from Super Smash Bros. Brawl, including his Peanut Popgun and signature Rocketbarrel jet pack. Director Masahiro Sakurai has also confirmed via Miiverse that Diddy’s “flexibility” has been increased this time around, allowing him to stretch his arms further when he attacks.
Are you excited to see Diddy Kong return in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS? What other character do you want to see join the games’ roster? Let us know in the comments!

Well, if Dixie makes it in I guess the tag team option is out. I wonder how this affects her chances overall.
Yoshi’s New Island launches in three weeks, and since there’s no way he’s not in, we’ll probably see him then.
Looks like Diddy’s been hanging around too much with his weird uncle Lanky. Next he’ll be walking around on his hands and playing the trombone. …Actually that all sounds pretty awesome. :^)
