It doesn’t feel like much time has passed since Nintendo announced it would be doing away with Club Nintendo in favor of a newer, as of yet unrevealed new loyalty program, but we have already reached the first major milestone in the process. After today, March 31, you will be unable to redeem any unused product registration codes for Club Nintendo coins.
Even though registering your games will no longer be an option, your current stash of coins will remain available to spend on the physical and digital goodies currently being offered through Club Nintendo. However, after June 30, 2015, those coins will disappear into the Internet ether, so while you have more time to spend the coins than earn them, you will want to remember not to wait too long.
Though the end of Club Nintendo draws near, we will want to remain ever vigilant for when Nintendo reveals just what its new loyalty program will look like. Also, we still have this year’s Gold and Platinum awards to look forward to.
