After a labored development period, NIS America (Disgaea, Phantom Brave) has announced Rodea the Sky Soldier will not only launch for Wii U and 3DS, but will release in Europe on September 25. Bear in mind no American date has been set, but an Amazon listing pegs it for three days earlier on September 22. While it’s plausible for the title to launch in America around the same title, NIS America has not confirmed this detail.
Rodea the Sky Soldier is described as an on-rails shooter where the titular protagonist is controlled by drawing arcs on each console’s respective control screen. Not only did former Sonic developer Yuji Naka have a hand in crafting the title, but it’s also been announced that first-print copies will contain the previously-cancelled Wii version on a separate disc. This version will come complete with motion controls, so those who miss the Wii Remote might want to consider pre-ordering the Wii U version.
