7) Swamp Palace

Appeared in: The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds (3DS)
Water temples can be brutal, but series veterans will tell you that the more challenging a dungeon, the better. A Link Between Worlds‘ Swamp Palace was a tricky back and forth of manipulating water levels and maneuvering rafts around maze-like arrangements of pegs. Players wracked their minds trying to solve the dungeon’s devious puzzles, which played with people’s impressions of what to expect from a top-down Zelda adventure. It was cerebral, certainly, but figuring out the right way to proceed was immensely satisfying. Plus, I’m a sucker for the beautiful water effects!
yes! i haven’t played many of this dungeons but i agree with the number one choice, my absolute favorite dungeon of all the series, is haunting, hard, creative and beautiful. i also like the Ancient cistern and the spirit temple.
