Link standing masthead (Legend of Zelda)

8) Turtle Rock

Appeared in: The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening (Game Boy)

When Link’s Awakening dropped, few could have expected that Nintendo would have been so easily able to capture the spirit of the console Zelda games on a handheld. Capture it did, and the company brought along some wonderful dungeons, too. Turtle Rock was a menagerie of deadly traps and puzzles that really got players’ pulses pumping. With different paths to take, it was easy to get tripped up by Turtle Rock, but dedication yielded a very rewarding victory. It threw a lot at the player, but it was well-balanced and fun.
