Link standing masthead (Legend of Zelda)

2) Thieves’ Town

Appeared in: The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES)

If Swamp Palace messed with a player’s dungeon expectations, Thieves’ Town threw them right out the window. Early on, Link finds the Boss Key, only to discover the chamber that usually houses a dungeon’s master sinisterly empty. With no choice but to continue on, Link eventually finds some prison cells containing a mysterious young girl. In a great twist, Link finds out in the end that the girl is actually the boss, Blind the Thief! Exposed to sunlight, the girl’s true nature and form stand revealed, and Link finally is able to free the true captured maiden. An unforgettable dungeon from a classic Zelda game.
