1. Heart Forth, Alicia (Wii U)
Estimated Release Date: May
If you’ve never heard of Heart Forth, Alicia, then this excerpt from its Kickstarter page will surely get you excited:
Remember the electrifying gameplay of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, the expansive worlds of the Zelda games, and the rich, engaging story of Xenogears? This game is crafted in the spirit of those great adventures of the ’90s.
There are a lot of big names in there, but something tells me that Heart Forth, Alicia will live up to its promises. From the trailer, the game looks like it will excel both as a Metroidvania and an RPG. That’s probably because the game’s creator, Alonso Martin, spent over seven years perfecting every aspect of the game.
What makes the game’s story interesting to me is that it utilizes FMV cutscenes and regular in-game cutscenes to tell two different plots. Alongside the main quest in which Alicia fights to survive as the last wizard from the Old World, players are also treated to a separate story through live-action footage that follows someone called The Woman. Both stories are connected to each other, as the plot that follows The Woman will reveal new information about Alicia’s storyline as well. This is an incredibly interesting concept that could become an exceptional storytelling device.

I’m hoping for A Hat in Time on Wii U in 2015.
Since there’s no release date yet it’s a bit of a long shot, I’ll admit. But they’ve stopped just short of announcing it for Wii U so I have faith.
If the developer confirmed that it was coming to Wii U this year, it would have definitely made this list. I wish we could hear more about the game’s release!
Great list! Some were expecting, some forgotten, and a few were completely new to me. Definitely some games worth looking forward to though.
Thanks for putting this list together! I have a hard time keeping track of these games, and so many of these are definitely worth looking forward to.
Thanks! That’s why I put the list together in the first place. Nintendo has great indie support and I’m happy to help promote these games.
Affordable Space Adventures – how could I have forgotten about this game? It looks great, and should be out this year.
Good choice! That’s also another one I wanted to put on the list that I didn’t have room for, along with Hex Heroes, Elliot Quest, and Adventures of Pip. Even then, I’m sure I’m missing a few that I’ve been excited for!
Haha it was really hard to condense this list just to ten games.
