4. Citizens of Earth (Wii U/3DS)
Release Date: January 20
One of the ways I cope with the fact that we’ll never get another EarthBound game is by looking forward to games like Citizens of Earth. This is because the modern setting, cartoon-like art style, and psychedelic visuals during the game’s turn-based battles bring back fond memories of the Earthbound series. Citizens of Earth also utilizes recruitment elements from games like Pokémon and Suikoden, but instead of finding monsters or powerful warriors, you’ll use your power as the Vice President of the World to gather regular, ordinary people to do your bidding. This includes people like a barista, police officer, and even your own mother! Citizens of Earth looks like it will provide a hilarious, yet deep gaming experience that I can’t wait to get my hands on.
I’m hoping for A Hat in Time on Wii U in 2015.
Since there’s no release date yet it’s a bit of a long shot, I’ll admit. But they’ve stopped just short of announcing it for Wii U so I have faith.
If the developer confirmed that it was coming to Wii U this year, it would have definitely made this list. I wish we could hear more about the game’s release!
Great list! Some were expecting, some forgotten, and a few were completely new to me. Definitely some games worth looking forward to though.
Thanks for putting this list together! I have a hard time keeping track of these games, and so many of these are definitely worth looking forward to.
Thanks! That’s why I put the list together in the first place. Nintendo has great indie support and I’m happy to help promote these games.
Affordable Space Adventures – how could I have forgotten about this game? It looks great, and should be out this year.
Good choice! That’s also another one I wanted to put on the list that I didn’t have room for, along with Hex Heroes, Elliot Quest, and Adventures of Pip. Even then, I’m sure I’m missing a few that I’ve been excited for!
Haha it was really hard to condense this list just to ten games.
