2. Hive Jump (Wii U)
Estimated Release Date: Holiday
I love finding solid co-op games that my friends and I can play, which is why I’m so excited to download Hive Jump. Inspired by games like Spelunky and XCOM, Hive Jump mixes side-scrolling platforming with run-and-gun gameplay in order to create hectic battles for two to four players in local or online co-op. The game also has a beautiful pixel art style that looks fantastic due the the team’s dynamic lighting system, which is very unique for a game with a retro aesthetic.
I’m hoping for A Hat in Time on Wii U in 2015.
Since there’s no release date yet it’s a bit of a long shot, I’ll admit. But they’ve stopped just short of announcing it for Wii U so I have faith.
If the developer confirmed that it was coming to Wii U this year, it would have definitely made this list. I wish we could hear more about the game’s release!
Great list! Some were expecting, some forgotten, and a few were completely new to me. Definitely some games worth looking forward to though.
Thanks for putting this list together! I have a hard time keeping track of these games, and so many of these are definitely worth looking forward to.
Thanks! That’s why I put the list together in the first place. Nintendo has great indie support and I’m happy to help promote these games.
Affordable Space Adventures – how could I have forgotten about this game? It looks great, and should be out this year.
Good choice! That’s also another one I wanted to put on the list that I didn’t have room for, along with Hex Heroes, Elliot Quest, and Adventures of Pip. Even then, I’m sure I’m missing a few that I’ve been excited for!
Haha it was really hard to condense this list just to ten games.
