While it may no longer be a Wii U exclusive, it looks like gamers in the UK still prefer to play Rayman Legends on Nintendo’s home console.
According to early sales numbers, Ubisoft’s platformer, which was released in the UK on August 30, has actually sold best on Wii U thus far, edging out the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions. Despite being on sale for only a couple of days, the game was able to snag the number six spot on the multi-format charts, and landed on the number 14, 18, and 20 spots on the Wii U, Xbox 360, and PS3 charts, respectively.
What’s particularly impressive about this is the gulf between the consoles; given their several year advantage, Wii U’s install base pales in comparison to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, so to see the game performing best on the platform for which it was originally intended is gratifying.
Rayman Legends will be released in North America tomorrow, September 3. Will you be picking up a copy of the game? Let us know in the comments!

My copy of Rayman Legends is on a delivery truck headed my way right now. With this and Pikmin, my Wii U “exclusive”, “launch” lineup is finally complete, ten months later. ;^)
Just for kicks I grabbed the PS3 demo the other day. Sad to see all the clever Murfy gameplay cut or reduced to “press circle to win”, and odd to see it drop frames occasionally.
Great game on any platform, but it’s clearly at its best on Wii U.
