At a special PAX panel this past Saturday, Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune announced his next big gaming project: Mighty No. 9, a crowdfunded sidescrolling action game in the vein of Mega Man.
Reaction to the Inafune’s announcement has been overwhelmingly positive, so much so that the project has already made its initial Kickstarter goal of $900,000 within two days. That said, it still has quite a ways to go to hit consoles; the campaign needs to reach $2.5 million before Mighty No. 9 can be released on Wii U, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 (a 3DS version is also reportedly being considered, but has not been added to any of the stretch goals yet).
For full details on the project, including concept art and a look at the all-star the team behind the game, be sure to check out its Kickstarter page below.
