With the release of Hyrule Warriors quickly approaching, Nintendo and Tecmo Koei have been releasing plenty of new trailers and details for the upcoming Dynasty Warriors spinoff . After showing off two new characters during E3 (Zelda and Midna), the companies have gone ahead and revealed two more in this week’s Famitsu magazine.
The first is Agitha, the bug obsessed girl from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. She uses her parasol to battle and can summon bugs to fight off her enemies as well. The other new character is the mysterious white haired girl featured on the game’s box art. It turns out she is a completely original character named Lana, the White Witch. Her weapon is a book of spells, but not much else is known about her at this point. The developers have promised a number of interesting characters, so I wouldn’t be surprised if announcements like this keep coming over the next few months.
It has been a long time since I’ve really enjoyed a Dynasty/Samurai Warriors game, but this Zelda spinoff might be the one to pull me back in. I just hope that with the help of Nintendo, the series can escape the gameplay rut it’s been stuck in for so long. Hyrule Warriors releases for Wii U on September 26.
