Despite being one of the most divisive Wii U launch titles, ZombiU is a visceral survival-horror game that is a true return to form for the entire genre. We here at Nintendojo thought pretty highly of it upon release, and still do. Thus, it’s with great pleasure that we pass along the news that Nintendo too has seen the light. Recognizing ZombiU’s undoubted success, the Big N announced today that they will be bundling Ubisoft’s zombie thriller with certain Wii U systems.

For $389.99, consumers can net themselves a Deluxe Edition Wii U complete with a Pro Controller, ZombiU, a ZombiU art book, a digital copy of Nintendo Land, and all the other contents of the standard Deluxe Wii U. If you ask us, that’s a pretty fantastic deal. For those who have held out on picking up the system, this looks to be a great time to take the plunge. With that kind of price tag, and with all the recently announced titles, picking up the console now seems like a great idea.

This is an excellent deal. I have yet to play ZombieU. The fact that it comes bundled with a pro controller is wonderful!

I love the ZombiU demo, and it’s a fascinating concept that’s very well-executed… I just need a “wuss” mode. I’m awful at precision first-person games, I explore every nook and cranny, and customizable item/weapon/backpack loadouts light up my OCD like the sun. These things combine to make me very, very dead, over and over again. …Which is fine, but as often as not I make zero or negative progress, and that isn’t terribly fun.

If there’s a greatest-hits edition or something that includes an “I suck at this game but still want to play, please take pity on me” mode, I’m all in. :^)
