Earlier today, Activision announced a new sequel to the Skylanders franchise called Skylanders Swap Force.
In this installment, you will now have the ability to interchange the top and bottom halves of each character. So basically, you can make super mega forms of different characters together, adding a lot more variety to the gameplay than originally possible. Think of it like a mecha robot of sorts. Along with newer versions of the original 16 characters, the game will introduce 8 new Light Core characters, as well as 8 other new characters to collect and play as.
While the release date is still yet to be determined, it has been confirmed that Swap Force will be available on all consoles and handhelds, including Wii, 3DS, and Wii U.
