Zelda director Eiji Aonuma confirmed some time ago that The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons were coming to the Nintendo 3DS eShop… in Japan. He said that plans for a Western release were underway, but there was nothing solid in the way of release dates.
Now, we have something that’s a bit more solid. Aonuma has taken to his official Zelda platform, the Zelda Miiverse community, and given us some more information about the games’ release outside Japan.
“Our plan is to release these two games in other territories some time before summer!” Aonuma said on Miiverse. He went on to explain some of the special features the Zelda games will have on eShop, which will carry on the legacy of the code feature initially in the Game Boy Color games. “Completing one of the games earns you a secret. Entering that secret in the other game let’s you continue the story with the same character name and some of your items… There are many other variations including a different final boss battle and an extra hidden dungeon.”
You can go onto the Miiverse to find Aonuma’s full announcement. This is exciting news for Zelda fans! The release of Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons will mean that every single Zelda title ever will be available between the Wii, DS, and 3DS systems.

Seeing this news makes me remember the password generator that’s out there for Ages and Seasons.
Even if you owned only one of the games, you could generate a password that would make your game think you beat the other game! In addition to that, you could fabricate a password that gives you all the rings, none of the rings, or whatever you want.
Maybe it will still work?
