In 2014, Shovel Knight debuted on Wii U and 3DS, thrilling players with its old-school charm. While the game already received the top spot on Nintendojo’s list of the best Wii U eShop titles of the year, it looks as though developer Yacht Club Games plans to make 2015 just as special. The developer has announced the game’s first piece of new downloadable content for the year, and it looks like it will greatly increase the title’s replay value!
The upcoming DLC will allow players to choose the Plague Knight as a playable character in the game. In addition to a new skin and new abilities, the publisher promises the character will also have his very own story campaign. The character Mona, who runs the potion minigame, will have an expanded role in the upcoming campaign, as well. This is just the start for Shovel Knight DLC, however! Yacht Club Games plans to release more DLC throughout the year, including playable characters like King Knight and Spectre Knight, a local four-player mode, and more!
