We had nothing but nice things to say about New 3DS when we finally got our hands on one a few weeks back, but now the rest of the West can join in on the fun when the upgraded handheld launches in the US on February 13! Boasting improved 3D, processing power, and the addition of a C-Stick, New 3DS promises to take what was already a great piece of hardware and make it even better.
There are is one caveat, however: only the XL model is being released in the US, at this point. There is word that the standard New 3DS will eventually head our way, but in the interim, fans will have to stick with New 3DS XL. Clocking in at $199.99, the larger sibling of New 3DS comes in red or black, and is devoid of the colorful face buttons that adorn European and Japanese New 3DS units. There are a couple of special editions to look forward to based on Monster Hunter 4 and Majora’s Mask, at least, but they’re selling fast. Be sure to get your pre-orders in ASAP!
