Anticipated Kickstarter project Shovel Knight will come to 3DS and Wii U if fully funded, Yacht Club Games has announced.
With almost 1,600 backers, Shovel Knight needs $38,000 more to reach its pledge of $75,000. You can receive Wii U and 3DS copies of Shovel Knight if you pledge $15 or more, and you can receive a PC copy if you pledge $10 or more. The extra $5 for Wii U and 3DS copies cover development costs including dev kits certification requirements. With the recent drought of quality indie games, this is much welcomed news! Yacht Club also hinted at console specific features for Wii U and 3DS.
Although new, indie game developer Yacht Club is no rookie. The studio consists of top talent developers from WayForward who have worked on games like Contra 4, A Boy and His Blob, and the Mighty series on Nintendo eShop. Given Yacht Club’s pedigree, I am sure Shovel Knight won’t disappoint.
