After teasing fans with a series of cryptic screenshots released via its official Twitter account, WayForward has finally let the cat out of the bag and revealed the first details for Mighty Switch Force 2, the studio’s upcoming puzzle platformer for 3DS.
Like its critically-acclaimed predecessor, Mighty Switch Force 2 stars cyborg cop-turned-firefighter Patricia Wagon and her partner, Corporal Gendarmor. This time around, the pair have joined Planet Land’s Fire Brigade to keep Tangent City from being engulfed by flames. Players will be running and jumping through a series of mind-bending stages, rescuing the newly-reformed Hooligan Sisters and the USBs (Ugly Secret Babies) hidden throughout each level. WayForward promises the game will feature a host of new weapons, enemy characters, and puzzles, building on the foundation laid down by the first Mighty Switch Force and keeping the experience fresh for returning players.
Mighty Switch Force 2 will be available on the Nintendo eShop this spring. Until then, fans will have to content themselves with the first batch of screenshots from the game, which have been embedded below.
