A handful of trailers and screenshots have really only confirmed a handful of things about Monolith Soft’s upcoming Wii U exlusive, X. We know that it features large transforming mechs, huge monsters that can be fought on foot or in said mechs, massive, wide-open environments, and we know that it is breathtakingly gorgeous. However, we now know at least one more thing about the game: Monolith Soft is in desperate need of people to help make it.

The Japanese developer is currently looking for Motion Designers, a Game Planner, a Town Planner, and a Battle Algorithm Planner.

The job of a Motion Designer seems to be rather self explanatory, as he will be responsible for working on animating the world and the various people, monsters, and mechs that inhabit it throughout the game.

The Game Planner title is a little more vague, though the listing does specifically mention wanting people with experience in networking, which seems to be another indicator, in addition several shots from the trailers, that there will be a fairly significant online element to the game.

A Town Planner job definitely sounds a lot more specific, so based on the job title and the description, which includes the ability to write scripts in addition to programming code, it seems like this person will help build the towns and the people who inhabit them.

The final gig, Battle Algorithm Planner, also requires scripting knowledge, but it also demands experiencing in constructing the AI for the enemies in the game.

So, if you know any Japanese game developers currently looking for new employment with the appropriate criteria, tell them to check out Monolith Soft. And then, if they get hired, tell them to spill the beans on this game because every Nintendo fan with a pulse is desperate to learn more about X.

Will this programmer actually be working on X, or maybe on their next project? Lots of people have talked about X being released in 2014 – something I struggle to believe – but if they are just looking to hire talent now for clean-up that date seems even more suspect for North Americans.

Oh, so excited for this game!
