During today’s Smash Bros. update, it was confirmed that Dedede, the villainous king of Dreamland, would be returning as a playable fighter in both the Wii U and 3DS installments of the Super Smash Bros. series!

Dedede’s confirmation makes him the 21st character announced for the upcoming brawlers, and marks his second appearance in the series to date. (He, along with Kirby series compatriot Meta Knight, made his Smash Bros. debut in Super Smash Bros. Brawl for Wii.) Based on the early screenshots posted on the series’ official website, it seems he’ll be retaining much of his moveset from the previous Smash Bros. game, including his floaty jump and signature mallet.

Are you happy to see King Dedede return in the new Smash Bros. titles? Which character are you hoping will be confirmed next? Let us know in the comments!
