As the wait for the latest titles in the Super Smash Bros. series grows ever shorter, more details continue to emerge, mainly from game director Masahiro Sakurai. His latest update is a trophy of Saria from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D. More interesting than the trophy itself is the revelation that each game will have version-specific trophies. That means that the 3DS version will not only have levels based on handheld titles, but now trophies as well. The Wii U version will have levels and trophies based on console titles, accordingly.
This certainly seems like a smart way to get gamers to try both versions when they debut later this year. Limiting the game’s fighters to one version or another would certainly have caused some headaches, but making the addition of other exclusives makes the trade-off a bit fairer.
