Ubisoft has been fairly quiet on Child of Light, the studio’s beautiful platformer/RPG hybrid, since it was unveiled last September, but that silence was broken yesterday when the company announced that the game would be arriving digitally to Wii U (as well as PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One) on April 30. The game will retail for $14.99 USD.
Child of Light is an imaginative sidescrolling game that blends platforming with turn-based combat. Players will assume the role of Aurora, a young girl who slips into an ailment-induced sleep and awakens in the world of Lemuria, where she must recover the sun, moon, and stars from the Black Queen in order to return home.
In addition to announcing the game’s release date, Ubisoft has also released a new trailer for Child of Light, which you can watch below:
What do you think of Child of Light? Will you be giving it a download when it hits the eShop this April? Let us know in the comments!

I don’t totally understand how this game will work… but it looks gorgeous and I’m very interested to find out more. Glad it’s coming to Wii U. Frankly, that was a surprise to hear.
